Short, and mundanely cute

What stood out to me about this book, other than the cover, is the proud lack of epic-ness.

Tales of Mundane Magic is arranged as short chapters, or short stories, of some small magical adventures of these two sisters Gertie and Bridget. Their adventures are not big or fascinating, they are… mundane. What would it be like to simply live life with magic?

One story involves playing in the snow, another with a funeral while the ghost of the deceased is watching, another with some cursed books in a library. A couple are very short and simply funny.

It’s never explained just what kind of world this is, or any rules to the magic, which leaves it feeling vague… but it also means you can’t argue against the non-existent logic 😉

I really like the idea of this as children’s bedtime stories. Totally innocent, 5-minute reads with a healthy touch of magic.

With that, I would prefer it to include a few more chapters—it’s really very short. But cute.

Book 2 was recently released and looks just as cute!

Review also posted on Amazon. I was provided a copy of the ebook in exchange for a fair review.
